White Sands Dive Shop is a 5 Star PADI facility on the beach in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, owned and operated by PADI Staff Instructor Elbert Greer. We teach small groups on the largest barrier reef in this hemisphere, a fifteen minute flight from Belize International Airport.
Belize is a world class scuba destination with abundant marine life and healthy corals. When you are not diving with sharks, turtles, rays and eels, you can explore ancient Mayan ruins, visit rainforests, hike or go cave tubing.

Ask a QuestionDo I need experience before scuba diving?
No. Discover SCUBA Diving is built for people who have never breathed underwater. It covers the basic knowledge, a pool session with full gear and one open water dive, and it qualifies you to dive the Marine Reserve with a certified divemaster at depths up to 40 ft.
How long does certification take?
Open Water Diver runs three to four days. Five classes cover scuba gear selection and preparation, underwater life, dive planning, basic oceanography, diving physics and maladies, and the course includes four open water dives. If you complete the PADI eLearning at home first, the pool and training dives take the same three to four days at a lower course fee.
What equipment is provided?
All dives include tanks and weights. Mask, snorkel and fins, a BCD, a regulator, a shortie wet suit and a dive light are available to rent at the shop.
Is scuba diving in Belize beginner friendly?
Yes. Ambergris Caye sits alongside the largest barrier reef in this hemisphere, in warm, clear and sheltered water with healthy corals. Local diving and snorkeling departures are scheduled for 9:00 and we pick you up at the dock of your hotel.
What should I bring?
A swimsuit, a towel and sun protection. Bring your certification card and logbook if you are already certified. Everything else you need is at the shop.
